Cat & Taylor’s Stunning Wedding at Black Butte Ranch

Cat and Taylor’s wedding day was proof that the best weddings are the ones that feel relaxed, personal, and completely authentic.

There are some wedding days that instantly remind me why I love being a wedding videographer, and Cat & Taylor’s wedding at Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, Oregon was absolutely one of them.

Set in the heart of Central Oregon with mountain views stretching in every direction, their wedding day felt relaxed, intentional, emotional, and incredibly fun from beginning to end. Between the towering backdrop of Mt. Jefferson, deer wandering through the property, unforgettable sunset light, and one of the best first looks we’ve ever filmed, this wedding was the perfect reflection of who Cat and Taylor are together.

As an Oregon wedding videographer, these are the kinds of stories I love capturing. Real moments. Real personalities. And a wedding film that feels just like the day itself.

One of Our Favorite First Looks Ever

Hands down, Cat and Taylor’s first look was one of our favorites.

They chose a private spot surrounded by mountain views, with Mt. Jefferson standing tall behind them. The entire moment felt calm, personal, and completely natural.

Then Cat surprised Taylor by pulling a beer out of her wedding dress pocket.

Honestly, iconic. Also, we are totally here for wedding dresses with pockets!

It was such a simple but meaningful moment that perfectly reflected their relationship and personalities. For couples planning a wedding in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest, this is a great example of why first looks can be so special. They create space to slow down, connect with each other, and actually experience the day together before everything begins.

Including Their Dogs Made the Day Even More Personal

One of the best parts of Cat and Taylor’s wedding day was how intentionally they included their dogs, Marlowe and Cooper, throughout the celebration.

Taylor even walked down the aisle with them during the ceremony, which instantly became one of the most memorable moments of the day. It brought so much personality and emotion into the ceremony while also making the experience feel even more true to them as a couple.

As a wedding filmmaker, these are the details I always look for because they help tell a fuller story. The moments that are uniquely yours are often the moments that become the most meaningful in your wedding film later on.

Emotional Speeches and a Perfect Oregon Sunset

The reception carried the same energy as the rest of the day: heartfelt, joyful, and full of personality.

Cat’s dad and Taylor’s best man both gave speeches that had everyone laughing one moment and tearing up the next. You could feel how deeply loved these two are by the people around them.

And then came sunset.

Central Oregon sunsets already have a reputation for being incredible, but this one somehow exceeded expectations. The sky lit up with vibrant color across the mountains and fields surrounding Black Butte Ranch, giving us some of the most cinematic footage of the entire day.

For wedding videography, lighting matters, and Central Oregon consistently delivers some of the best natural light anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
